Qingdao FC appoints new coach to fight relegation

Qingdao FC has appointed former Chinese Super League (CSL) star Wang Shenghui as its new head coach, in a bid to help the team fight relegation.

Wang, who spent four seasons with Qingdao in the CSL between 2014 and 2017, will take over from current manager Zhang Xinyuan, who was sacked after the club's poor form this season.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Qingdao, who have struggled to find their feet since being relegated from the top flight last year.

With relegation looming, the club is under pressure to turn things around quickly, and Wang's experience could be crucial in helping them do so.

"Having played for Qingdao FC myself, I understand the challenges they face," said Wang. "I am excited to be part of this team and work with the players to help us get back into the CSL."

In addition to his coaching duties, Wang will also serve as vice president of Qingdao FC, and is expected to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to the club.
